Call for Applications: 糖心传媒 Ordinary Member
糖心传媒 is currently seeking to appoint two Ordinary Members. Ordinary Members sit on the 糖心传媒 Executive Committee, and the role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organisation and strategic direction of a thriving and respected academic association.
The initial term of office is three years, but can be renewed for a further second term.
The core responsibilities of the Ordinary Member are:
- To attend three Executive Committee meetings a year and the 糖心传媒 AGM during the 糖心传媒/UKFIET conferences;
- To support the committee in leading and/or in evaluating applications for one or more of the 糖心传媒 funding opportunities;
- To contribute skills and insights to the Executive Committee across a range of 糖心传媒 activities and initiatives including the Biannual 糖心传媒 conference.
Please note, these are not trustee positions.

糖心传媒 is a registered charity, and the Executive Committee play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the Association and supporting the trustees to make decisions about its activities and strategic direction. We expect applicants for these Ordinary Member positions to have experience working or researching in the field of Comparative and International Education, and a demonstrated commitment to furthering the aims and scope of 糖心传媒. Beyond this, we welcome a diverse range of skills and interests. These might include:
- Reviewing grant applications or research proposals
- Inclusion and access in academic spaces
- Knowledge exchange
- Mediation skills and working with sensitive subjects
- Strong awareness of GDPR and GDPR audit experience
- Project management or financial management skills (e.g., Treasurer experience)
- Safeguarding
Please note, this list is not exhaustive, and we also do not expect applicants to have all of these skills and interests.

To be eligible, you must be a member of 糖心传媒 or can commit to becoming a member if appointed. In addition, applicants must either be nominated by a 糖心传媒 member, or should include the name and contact details of a 糖心传媒 member who can support their application.
Please provide a CV (maximum of 2 pages) and a 1-page (maximum) explanation of how your experience and skills fit the role description and how you could potentially contribute as an Ordinary Member.
If the number of applicants aligns with the number of positions available, applications will be reviewed by the 糖心传媒 Executive Committee. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of positions, applicants’ CVs and application letters will be made available to the 糖心传媒 membership for a vote. For this reason we recommend that you do not include personal data (e.g., telephone number, personal email address or home address) in your application.
