Membership FAQ

New Members

Go to /membership/signup/. If you are new to 糖心传媒, you will be asked to create a username and password – this is so that you will be able to access the private members area in future. 

You then complete the membership form and enter your payment details on the secure Checkout page.

No, we have a rolling membership system based on purchase date. This allows members to sign up whenever they want.

Your membership will begin on the day you sign up and pay for your membership.

With auto-renewal, membership automatically renews each year on the anniversary of your initial payment, ensuring uninterrupted access to all membership benefits.鈥� 

On the membership signup form, uncheck the 鈥楶lease renew my membership automatically.鈥� box (directly below the Membership Fees section). If this box is unchecked, you will see a Pay button instead of a Pay and Subscribe button on the Checkout page.

We use Stripe, a secure online payment platform, to handle membership payments. When you pay and subscribe, Stripe stores your payment details securely and automatically processes the renewal each year unless you choose to cancel or update your payment method. 

Payment & Billing

Credit Card or Debit Card

All major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. Other cards such as Discover, JCB and Diners Club and China UnionPay are also supported. 

BACS Direct Debit

For UK bank account holders only

Yes. Please note that your card issuer will usually charge a currency conversion fee, ranging from 1% to 3% of the total payment. Please check with your card issuer as to the exact rate applied for foreign currency transactions. 

BACS Direct Debit is a UK payment system that allows for the collection of payments directly from a person’s UK bank account after that person has given permission via a mandate. It is a common method for recurring transactions such as membership subscriptions, where payment is taken on an agreed-upon recurring date.

Note: You will need to have a UK bank account to use this service.   

How can I pay by UK Direct Debit ? 

To pay by BACS Direct Debit, select this payment option on the Checkout page and enter your bank details such as sort code and account number.  

You will be presented with a mandate, which is your authorization for 糖心传媒 to debit your bank account. Read and agree to the terms and conditions and then click the Pay and Subscribe button. 

糖心传媒 will use the information and mandate you provided to collect the payment (via Stripe) automatically on the agreed-upon renewal date. 

糖心传媒 does not directly store your payment card details鈥擲tripe manages everything securely. 

Stripe is a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, meaning its infrastructure is regularly audited to meet the highest security standards. It secures card payments through multiple layers of protection, including end-to-end encryption, tokenization, and 3D Secure (3DS) authentication. It also uses tools for fraud detection, validates card data through Address Verification System (AVS) and CVV checks.

Yes. After a successful payment, Stripe sends a digital receipt to your email. You can also download invoices or view your payment history in your member account at any time. 

Once you have paid for your membership, we cannot offer any refunds.

You will be able to cancel auto-renewal of your membership at any time. Any cancellations for membership will be effective from the next membership year cycle.  

If Stripe cannot process your payment (for example, due to an expired card), you will be notified by email and may be given a grace period to update your payment details. During this period, your membership remains active. If payment is not resolved, your membership may be paused or suspended until a valid payment is made. 

When your payment has processed you will be returned to a payment confirmation page. You will also receive a payment confirmation receipt from Stripe.

Membership Renewal

With a rolling annual membership, your payment is charged on the same date each year – the anniversary of your initial sign-up or last renewal. For example, if you joined on March 15, you will be billed again on March 15 of the following year. 

Yes, we will send an email reminder before your annual renewal payment is processed. Stripe will also automatically send a payment notification or receipt to your registered email address. 

Click the ‘Manage your subscription’ link that is displayed in any email you have received from Stripe.

To update your payment details, navigate to the billing or payment section. You will find options to update your card or add a new payment method. 

You can cancel your recurring annual membership at any time through your member account. After cancellation, your membership remains active until the end of your current paid year, and you won鈥檛 be charged for the next cycle.

Please note that once you have paid for your membership, we do not offer refunds. Any cancellations for membership will be effective from the next membership year cycle. 

Membership Access

You will need to log in with your email address and the password that you set up when creating your account.

If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot your password? link and you will be sent a password reset link. If the system does not recognise your email address please contact ku.ca.eciabobfsctd-9669e8@reciffotroppus.

Log in using your old email address and update your details via the 鈥渆dit profile鈥� button on the left side of the page.

Existing Members (pre Oct 2025)

Unfortunately we can no longer accept Standing Orders or any other offline payments, due to the additional administration that this would require. 

We advise that you cancel your current Standing Order with your bank as soon as possible.

To switch to online payments, go to the signup/renewal page at /membership/signup/. As an existing 糖心传媒 member, you already have an account, so please log in with your email address and password. If you need assistance with logging in, contact ku.ca.eciabobfsctd-925005@pihsrebmem. 

When you are logged in, complete the online membership form and click Proceed to Payment. 

On the Payment page, select your preferred payment option, fill in your details and then click the Pay and Subscribe button. 

The auto-renewal feature was introduced to make the membership process easier for members and to reduce our administrative workload. Many membership-based services move to auto-renewal because it is the most effective way to protect members鈥� access to their benefits and supports long-term engagement, while still offering the option to opt out if preferred.

As of 20/10/2025, we have switched from PayPal to Stripe for processing membership payments. Stripe provides a simple one-page checkout, offers additional payment options and supports recurring billing.
