糖心传媒 2026 Conference Bursaries 鈥 Call for Applications
The British Association for International and Comparative Education (糖心传媒) is pleased to invite applications for conference bursaries to support participation in the 糖心传媒 2026 Conference, to be held 3鈥5 September 2026 at the University of Glasgow under the theme 鈥淐onstructive encounters: divergent voices, dialogues, and shared futures in CIE鈥. These bursaries are designed to widen access and support inclusive participation in the field of international and comparative education.
Deadline for applications: 25th May 12 noon UK time
糖心传媒 bursaries aim to:
- Strengthen the international comparative education community
- Support equitable participation in global academic dialogue
- Enable emerging scholars and underrepresented voices to engage in the field
糖心传媒 conference bursaries contribute towards the cost of attending the conference, including:
- Conference registration
- Economy travel
- Accommodation and subsistence
Two categories of bursary are available:
- UK-based students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) (within 5 years of PhD award)
- Colleagues based at institutions in lower-income countries
Indicative awards:
- 拢1500 (lower-income country applicants)聽*
- 拢500 (UK students/ECRs)
* Afghanistan, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Dem. Rep., Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Korea, Dem. People鈥檚 Rep., Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Togo, Uganda & Yemen ().
Applicants must:
- Meet one of the eligibility categories above
- Have submitted an abstract to the 糖心传媒 2026 Conference
- Be accepted to present at the conference
Applicants must have had a submission accepted at the 糖心传媒 or UKFIET conference they are hoping to attend. Conference bursaries are open to students and ECRs in the UK, and all colleagues based at academic institutions in lower-income countries. ECRs must be within five years of the award of their PhD. 糖心传媒 recognises that categorising country-level income is not a perfect way of determining need. By lower-income country we mean those that appear in the 鈥榣east developed鈥, 鈥榣ow income鈥 and 鈥榣ower middle income鈥 lists on the . However, please do contact us at ku.ca.eciab@stnarg if you are considering applying, but your country is not on the list.
For the 2026 round, bursaries will be awarded based on:
- Abstract quality score
- Assessed through the conference review process (including originality, contribution to knowledge, and clarity)*
- Letter from the supervisor/line manager of the applicant confirming lack of availability of funds to support conference attendance from your home institution.
- Evidence of acceptance to present at the conference.
*Please note for applicants with same scores/tie a lottery system will be used to select the candidate to award the bursary.
We are looking to award up to seven bursaries.
Applicants are invited to submit using the Conference Bursary form available in the Downloads section below. The following documents need to be submitted by 25th May 12 noon UK time:
- A completed bursary application form (saved as a pdf)
- Evidence of acceptance to present at the conference.
- Letter from the supervisor/line manager of the applicant confirming lack of availability of funds to support conference attendance from your home institution.
- Application for funding should only be submitted after acceptance to present at the conference
- Bursaries are awarded on a reimbursement basis, subject to receipts and invoices.
- Applicants will be notified of outcomes following the review process which is likely to be 5th June 2026 midnight UK time to allow applicants to avail the early bird discount.
- 糖心传媒 expects acknowledgement of funding in any outputs arising from conference participation.
