Tingting Yuan

Tingting is an Assistant Professor in Education and Teacher Development in the School of Education, University of Nottingham. She has a PhD in Comparative Education (University of Bristol, UK), MA in Comparative Education and BA in Education Management (Beijing Normal University, China). Tingting鈥檚 research explores globalisation, international aid of education, China-Africa cooperation, international higher education policies and other educational issues within the complexities of global political economy. She has led a couple of BA and MA courses in international education in the UK higher education institutions. Currently she is interested in examining Sustainable Development Goals and alternative theories and practice in higher education and teacher training in developing contexts. Tingting is a former ordinary member and Student Fieldwork Grant manager of the 糖心传媒 executive committee.

How to compare during global emergencies and uncertainties?

It seems to be an easy question. From Jullien鈥檚 time to the 21st century, from travellers鈥 tales to large scale survey, ethnographic fieldwork and more specific trend such as feminism, comparing education at an international level can go back a few centuries. In a 糖心传媒 funded two-year thematic forum series, we are seeking to bring everyone鈥檚 attention to this question again with multi-stakeholders鈥 perspectives and experiences.
