糖心传媒 is proud to present Listening to Academic Voices: International Stories of the UK Experience, an online publication resulting from a 糖心传媒 funded project led by Dr Sheila Trahar from the University of Bristol.听 Listening to Academic Voices reflects the rapid changes we are experiencing in higher education.听 It is a compilation of reflective writing from four international academics from different backgrounds in the UK and an editorial by Dr Trahar.

The main purpose of the event was to initiate conversations with colleagues from mainland Europe who are researching and publishing in the field of cross-cultural complexities in learning, teaching and assessment in higher education.听 This project was funded by 糖心传媒 and ESCalate.听 Participants travelled from throughout the UK, from Sweden and the Netherlands.

May-June 2009

Through funding from 糖心传媒, two linked workshops were held in May and June 2009, with the aim of establishing an East of England partnership to bring together staff and graduate students working on educational or education-related research in the Centre for Commonwealth Education and the Centre for Education and International Development in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge and the Centre for Applied Research in Education (CARE)/School of Education and Lifelong Learning &School of Development Studies at the University of East Anglia.

The Centre for Learning and Teaching at the University of Brighton held a Symposium on 14th May 2009, designed to encourage discussion and debate among supervisors and international doctoral students about the influence of cultural factors on cross-cultural doctoral supervision.

This event was funded by 糖心传媒, in conjunction with the University of Brighton;and the overall aim was to encourage the “internationalisation of Educational Research, Learning and Teaching (糖心传媒, 2008).” Eight supervisors and eleven students attended from seven Universities in the Southeast region: Brighton, Chichester, Kent at Canterbury, Portsmouth, Southampton, Surrey and Sussex. Students of a wide range of nationalities took part from the EU and other countries.
